Board of Directors

2020 - 2021

Richard Lam

  • President

Richard Lam might seem unapproachable at first, but he is always reliable whenever needed. What makes Lam distinct from other is his working style. He is people-oriented and always valuing learning from his mistakes rather than just focusing on intractable results. This makes him the most fitting person to be HRMA’s President. As the head of the Association, Lam provides strong leadership for the association by working closely with the board of directors. He’s also responsible for presiding over the entire workforce, managing budgets as well as making sure resources are allocated properly for short and long-term goals.

Winnie Kwan

  • Vice president

After testing her limits at different association and organizations, Winnie Kwan sees HRMA as her next opportunity. Kwan is organized and hardworking, which allows her to continuously learn new skills and knowledge. At the Association, she works alongside with the HRMA president, focusing on the goal to create more opportunities within the Human Resource Management field for HR students, while overseeing the different roles within the association. But when on her free time, Kwan can be seen travelling around places and trying out restaurants.

Neha Goyal

  • Director of Social Media Marketing

To be a Director of Social Media Marketing, it requires confidence, creativity and ambition. Luckily, Neha Goyal has them all. As the HRMA provides on and off campus events for networking and professional development within the Human Resources Management field, Goyal doesn’t hesitate to join. In here, she can be creative to her heart’s content. Goyal has been developing HRMA’s brand awareness and online reputation through different online platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. In return, the HRMA offers her back many opportunities to learn and grow.

Madilyn Kuang

  • Co-director of Social Media and Marketing

For someone who can balance between friendliness and professionalism, Madilyn Kuang fits the role of Social Media and Marketing Director. Kuang joins HRMA for the experiences and compassion in marketing and Human resources, yet she never forgets to have fun and be kind to other people. In HRMA, she monitors, creates, and updates Capilano HRMA social media outlets on a weekly basis as well as connect with other faculties and professionals.

Sahil Jethwani

  • Director of Communication

Relaxed, respectful, and organized are the three words that encapsulate Sahil Jethwani. In addition, he believes in the values such as life-long learning and giving back to the community. This has been his primary motivation to consistently improve himself in and outside of school. Looking to challenge his communication and team-working skills, Jethwani joins the HRMA as the Director of Internal and External Relations. The Association just couldn’t ask for a better person to manage and mediate internal conflicts as well as maintain and acquire external relations.

Divya Garg

  • Vice President

“Believe and Become”. That’s what Divya Garg says when she thinks nothing is impossible. She is a curious ambivert who’s not afraid of solving problems. In the HRMA, she is usually the one who comes out with the best solutions. Such talent also comes from her fondness for books and cultures. As the Vice President, she’s responsible for planning and management of events organized by the HRMA. In addition, she hopes that her well-spent time here will be beneficial to her knowledge and social network.

Hao Duong

  • Director of Web development

After graduating from high school, Hao Duong decided to fly through half the world to challenge himself in a new environment. Vancouver was his destination. Duong has always been a curious person and wanted to step out of his comfort zone. For Duong, HRMA is a perfect opportunity to grow and achieve bigger goals. As the Director of Web Development, he takes care of the content and visuals of the Association’s main website.
